Tower of Schinderhannes

The Tower of Schinderhannes awaits you.

In 1799 the notorious robber “Schinderhannes” was imprisoned in this tower. After six months of imprisonment, however, he managed to escape from the tower, which had been considered escape-proof until then.

Nowadays, fortunately, visiting the tower is on a voluntary basis. Today, the Schinderhannes Tower serves as an event and exhibition space. Exhibits of Schinderhannes take us back in time and into life of the short-term tower resident.
